Dr. Eric Chan

Director & Principal General Practitioner (Male)

MBBS, FRACGP CA

I’m the Managing Principal of My Family Doctors. Along with managing the practice and providing an endless supply of coffee to our amazing healthcare team, I’m also one of the dedicated on-site GPs.

*As an independent tenant practitioner I am responsible for all my own medical and health care service at My Family Doctors Health Hub.

Growing up in the inner west, I trained locally at RPA Hospital: holding postgraduate qualifications in management, family medicine, sports medicine, chronic care, sexual health and preventative care.

Between 2008 and 2013, I served with the Royal Australian Army Medical Corp. During this time, I conducted humanitarian logistic work in Nepal and the Solomon Islands. Coordinating care for those most in need and seeing the positive impact on these remote communities fuelled my passion for primary health care.

Returning to my hometown, I committed to serving the local community I grew up in. So with the support of my close-knit team, we opened our own independent GP clinic – right here in Five Dock.

I enjoy all aspects of General Practice –remaining an active and accredited Australian General Practice Training Program supervisor. I feel proud to share my lifelong learnings and experience with the next generation of GPs.

Outside the practice, I spend quality time with my beautiful wife Cecilia and our three bambinos: Claire, Evie and Lenny.

Our nurse and support staff

Linda Ho

Practice Nurse, Child and Family Health Advocate, Nurse Immuniser (Female)

I’m the registered nurse at My Family Doctors – with over 30 years’ experience in a variety of clinical settings. Many moons ago, I graduated with honours in Bachelor of Nursing in one of the very first cohorts of nursing graduates at Sydney University. Yes, I’m one of the OGs!

Throughout my nursing career, I’ve worked in most of the major Sydney Metropolitan Hospitals in medical, surgical as well as mental health units. I have extensive experience in wound care, burns, vascular, paediatrics, respiratory, dialysis, palliative nursing, Stroke and High Dependency Units.

Along the way, I found my passion in family practice nursing, caring for patients and families – young and old – and helping them navigate our health system. I’m also fiercely protective of anyone requiring medical care, as if they were my own family.

When I’m not caring for my four boys, I volunteer my time at Legacy Australia and disability support groups. I also train therapy dogs (one of which is my own, Jaxon!).
